Revit users are able to plan and track different stages in the building’s lifecycle, from the idea to construction and maintenance. It is a strong collaboration tool between various disciplines in the building design field. Now it is a high-quality product which allows users to design and structure a building in 3D, annotate models with 2D drafting elements and access information from the model’s database.
In 2002 Autodesk purchased Revit, and since then it proceeded to develop by leaps within this corporation. Its key developers wanted to bring the power of parametric modeling to the building industry and they succeeded. The original software was developed by Charles River Software. It uses ShapeManager kernel - a product by Autodesk. The analytical properties of the analysis elements can then be reviewed and edited as required in the TSD model.The sections are imported into TSD as analysis elements (with the default analysis element properties).On export from Revit, the Export Name is set = Analysis Element in the Revit Integrator - this mapping can then be saved.Revit → TSD unmapped precast members (beams & columns) can now be exported as analysis elements from Revit.Round tripping of the TSD precast beam types of T, L, Inverted T and Inverted L (available in TSD 2020 onwards).
